Identity

The Church of the Nazarene takes its name from Jesus who was known as "the Nazarene" (Matt. 2:23). Nazarenes hold to the orthodox Christian beliefs expressed in the Apostles' Creed. Nazarenes also value the Protestant expression of the Christian Faith, especially as formulated and preached by John Wesley. The Church of the Nazarene is an evangelical denomination of over 13,000 churches and over one million members with churches and missions in 146 world areas.

The New Paltz Church of the Nazarene is composed of about ninety families. The worshiping congregation, averaging about ninety in attendance, is made up of people from a wide diversity of educational, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Yet unity is achieved by a common devotion to worship and to serve Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The church building is fully handicapped accessible with a ramp to the lower level and an elevator to the sanctuary level.

Directions/Map

The Church of the Nazarene is located 2 1/2 miles from New Paltz Exit 18 on the NY Thruway. From the Thruway exit take Route 299W onto Route 32N to the Church. Also, the Church is located one mile north of the intersection of Route 208, Route 299, and Route 32 in New Paltz.
